Steg.AI is proud to announce that our CEO, Dr. Eric Wengrowski, and Chief Scientist, Professor Kristin Dana, have been awarded the 46th Annual Edison Patent Award for Emerging Technology, presented by the Research & Development Council of New Jersey. This prestigious recognition celebrates their breakthrough work, “Light-Field Messaging to Embed a Hidden Message Into a Carrier.”

Steg.AI was founded out of steganography research by Dr. Wengrowski and Prof. Dana on Light-Field Messaging, a cornerstone of our cutting-edge forensic watermarking software. Today, our watermarking capabilities enable important use cases such as Provenance, Leak Protection, and Deepfake Shield, strengthening the available tools for digital media integrity, authenticity, and security.

The Edison Patent Awards are New Jersey’s highest honor for patented innovation. Named after serial inventor Thomas Edison, who held more than 1,000 patents, the award recognizes inventions of exceptional novelty, utility, and societal impact. Each year, the Council evaluates nominations from the state’s top universities, research institutions, and technology companies, awarding innovations that push the boundaries of science and engineering. This year’s ceremony carried the theme “Powering the Future Through Invention,” underscoring the vital role of innovators like Dr. Wengrowski and Professor Dana in shaping technology’s future.

Congratulations to Dr. Wengrowski and Professor Dana, as well as to all of the 2025 Edison Patent Award honorees. We also thank the Research & Development Council of New Jersey for recognizing innovative work in STEM and advocating for research-driven companies. This award further reinforces Steg.AI’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that safeguard the integrity of digital media worldwide.
